ASSOCIATED GROUPS
Over the years Thunder Bay Combat Club has associated with several different groups, in order to grow the shooting sports in Thunder Bay and Canada, and provide unique opportunities for our members. If you would like to be affiliated with us please send us an email at info@thunderbaycombatclub.ca.
The Thunder Bay Combat Club has been affiliated with with the Canadian Police Combat Association since we were incorporated in 1980, in order for our members to compete in sanctioned Police Pistol Combat (PPC) matches in Canada and around the world. Although popularity has waned in recent years, we still have some members who provide us with strong representation at CPCA events. Operational Protective Strategies is a martial arts school created by highly accredited instructor Sean Mulligan. In 2018 TBCC partnered with OPS to provide hand to hand martial art and self defense training to our members in exclusive classes. Outdoors Classifieds is an online marketplace for buying, selling, or trading firearms, accessories, and related hunting, fishing, and outdoors equipment. Based out of Northwestern Ontario, they have been gracious enough to host a message board just for us. TBCC looks forward to working on other projects with them in the future. The Canadian Shooting Sports Association is an organization that promotes all shooting disciplines in Canada and advocates for firearms rights at a provincial, national, and international level. TBCC is a CSSA member club, and our RSOs and Club Level Safety Course instructors are all certified through the CSSA. Whether or not you are a member of TBCC, you are encouraged to join the CSSA to protect the sport we love!
TBCC became an IPSC Ontario affiliated club in 2019, with the goal of not only providing a more advanced discipline to our members, but to help the sport of IPSC grow in Northwestern Ontario and thrive as it does nationwide. Our aim is to hold high quality matches and one day host a Level 3, drawing in people from across the country.
Although technically not affiliated with TBCC, many of our members support and are members of the Canadian Coalition for Firearm Rights. They do excellent work advocating for firearms owners in Canada, both in public relations and campaigning all levels of government. Everyone is encouraged to join.
